Impressive voter turnout of 33.12% recorded in Meghalaya's two Lok Sabha seats by 11 am

Two Lok Sabha seats in Meghalaya had a 33.12% voter turnout by 11 am. Polling for Shillong and Tura seats, with 10 candidates, started at 7 am. Shillong saw 32.7% turnout, Tura had 33.82% in first four hours. 3,512 polling stations were set up, 22.7 lakh eligible voters.

The two Lok Sabha seats in Meghalaya recorded a voter turnout of 33.12 percent till 11 am on Friday, officials said.

Polling began at 7 am in the Shillong and Tura seats where 10 candidates are in the fray, they said.

Shillong recorded 32.7 percent turnout, while Tura recorded 33.82 percent polling in the first four hours, they added.

Voting was being held at 3,512 polling stations in the state, with 22.7 lakh people eligible to exercise their franchise.
