CBI Arrests Key Suspects in NEET-UG Paper Leak Case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has apprehended two additional suspects linked to the NEET-UG paper leak scandal, one of whom is accused of pilfering the exam paper from a National Testing Agency (NTA) trunk in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, officials revealed on Tuesday.

With these latest arrests, the total number of individuals taken into custody in connection with various irregularities, including leakage and impersonation, in the medical entrance exam has climbed to 14. One of those detained is Pankaj Kumar, a 2017 graduate in civil engineering from the National Institute of Technology Jamshedpur, who is accused of stealing the paper from the NTA trunk in Hazaribagh. Kumar, a Bokaro resident, was arrested in Patna.

The CBI also detained Raju Singh from Hazaribagh, who is alleged to have assisted Kumar in the theft. The investigation continues as the agency temporarily sealed Raj Guest House in Hazaribagh in relation to the case. Previous arrests include local journalist Jamaluddin Ansari and Oasis School officials, who were appointed as district coordinators by the NTA.
