Ahmedabad University has announced the launch of the Bagchi School of Public Health, a new initiative named after renowned philanthropists Susmita and Subroto Bagchi. Initiated in 2023, the school aims to revolutionize public health education and research in India.
The transformative grant of INR 55 crores from the Bagchi couple will enable the development of state-of-the-art physical, digital, and intellectual infrastructure, positioning the school as a global leader in public health education and research.
Leveraging Ahmedabad University's interdisciplinary environment, the Bagchi School integrates research, education, and action to focus on specific areas such as Environmental Health and Biostatistics. Its flagship program is a PhD in Epidemiology aimed at equipping students with advanced skills to address complex public health challenges.
