DSEU Revokes Fee Concessions for SC, ST, and EWS Students, Leading to Outcry

The Delhi Skills and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU) has discontinued fee concessions for Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) students starting from the 2024-25 academic session. Additionally, fees for many courses have been increased significantly, sparking concerns among the affected students about affordability and access to education.

The Delhi Skills and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU) has revoked a 20% fee concession for SC and ST students and a 10% waiver for the EWS category, raising concerns among affected individuals.

Students have voiced apprehensions not only over the revocation of waivers but also about a recent fee hike and criteria for exempting 'fee defaulters' from exams.

DSEU, a state-funded institute, announced that the concessions would end starting the 2024-25 academic session, and fees for many courses have since increased up to nine-fold, as confirmed by the students' body, Aawaz.
