The Rajya Sabha was informed on Thursday that no incidents of paper leakage have been reported in employment recruitment exams conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Staff Selection Commission (SSC), Railway Recruitment Board (RRB), and the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) over the past two years.
Union Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh noted that the National Testing Agency (NTA) had conducted the NEET(UG) examination in pen-and-paper mode on May 5, 2024. Certain cases of alleged irregularities and cheating were reported; however, the matter has been referred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for comprehensive investigation as of June 22, 2024.
Additionally, Singh highlighted that the government has enacted the Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair means) Act, 2024, aimed at curbing unfair practices in public examinations. This law has been implemented alongside detailed rules to ensure examination integrity.
