6,700 Indian Students Repatriated Amid Bangladesh Unrest

Around 6,700 Indian students returned from Bangladesh after weeks of anti-government protests in the country. The protests, triggered by a controversial job quota system, resulted in violent clashes and over 120 deaths. India hopes for quick normalization, considering the situation an internal matter of Bangladesh.

In an update from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), approximately 6,700 Indian students have returned from Bangladesh amid escalating anti-government protests. The protests, which have raged for weeks over a contentious job quota system, have led to violent clashes and over 120 fatalities.

MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal expressed optimism that the situation in Bangladesh would stabilize soon. 'We are aware of the developments and consider this an internal matter of Bangladesh. With the cooperation of the Bangladeshi government, we ensured the safe return of our students,' he stated.

Although connectivity in Bangladesh remains limited due to an internet blackout, reports indicate that the country is gradually returning to normal. However, many websites and mobile internet services are still suspended, impacting communication significantly.
