Protests Surge Over Tragic Deaths at Delhi Coaching Centre

Five more individuals were detained on Monday, while bulldozers commenced the removal of encroachments, as distress over the deaths of three civil service aspirants who drowned in a coaching center's basement reverberated from Parliament to the streets of Old Rajinder Nagar.

Lawmakers across party lines in the Lok Sabha have called for an investigation, while hundreds of students staged protests near Rau's IAS Study Circle in west Delhi, where the fatal incident occurred Saturday night, trapping three students in a basement library as floodwaters rose outside.

The SUV driver, whose vehicle caused floodwaters to swell and breach the gates of the three-story building, was among the five arrested, and his vehicle has been seized.
