The Ministry of Education commemorated the fourth anniversary of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 with the Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam 2024, held at New Delhi's Manekshaw Centre Auditorium on July 29, 2024. The event featured prominent figures including Minister of State for Education Shri Jayant Chaudhary, Minister of State for Education and Development of North Eastern Region Dr. Sukanta Majumdar, and senior officials from the Ministry, alongside academicians, university vice-chancellors, and students.

During the event, several significant initiatives aligned with NEP 2020 were launched:

Dedicated TV Channels: Including a Tamil channel to support learning in various Indian languages.

Primers for Early Graders: Expansion of primers in 25 Indian languages, building on the 54 previously released.

10 Bagless Days Guidelines: Aimed at making school learning more enjoyable and stress-free.

Career Guidance Guidelines: Featuring a library of over 500 job cards.

National Mission for Mentoring (NMM) and National Professional Standards for Teachers (NPST): Available in Braille and audio formats.

School Innovation Marathon: A collaborative effort by AICTE, NITI Aayog, and AIM.

Books on Graduation Attributes and Professional Competencies: To enhance educational and professional development.

Promotion of Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS): Unveiling of four books and lecture notes to integrate traditional knowledge with modern education.

Celebratory Messages and Reflections:

Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, in his message, emphasized NEP 2020's transformative impact on India's education system, fostering a knowledge economy and driving socio-economic progress. He thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his leadership and reaffirmed the commitment to fully implement NEP 2020.

Shri Jayant Chaudhary lauded the crucial role of teachers and highlighted the NEP 2020's revolutionary approach to education. He called for collective efforts from states to realize the policy's potential and mentioned the importance of addressing both strengths and challenges through the APAAR platform.

Dr. Sukanta Majumdar expressed appreciation for Prime Minister Modi's visionary ideas that shaped NEP 2020, highlighting its focus on integrating India's heritage with modern advancements and value-based education. He noted that the Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam embodies the spirit of progress and heritage.

Shri K. Sanjay Murthy and Shri Sanjay Kumar also spoke on the importance of integrating school and higher education through APAAR, with Kumar highlighting the "Shiksha Saptah" campaign celebrated nationwide.

The Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam featured six thematic sessions covering various NEP 2020 initiatives:

Importance of Sustainability in Education Curriculum and Industry-Academia Collaboration.

PM SHRI (School Education & Skilling).

Role of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in promoting STEM and enhancing Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER).

Equivalence of Curriculum and Assessment across School Boards.

Role of Ranking and Accreditation in Enhancing Quality.

NCF-FS and NCF-SE: Salient Features and Implementation Roadmap.

The event brought together a diverse group of stakeholders, including State Education Secretaries, SCERT Directors, school and university heads, and students from various educational institutions. It served as a platform to renew the commitment to NEP 2020 and explore collaborative strategies for its effective implementation.
