The family of Nevin Delvin, a bright student who lost his life in the Delhi coaching center flooding incident, is seeking answers and accountability. The tragic event also claimed the lives of two other UPSC aspirants.
Delvin, 28, leaves behind his grieving parents and younger sister. His mother, Lanclet Delvin, a professor in Kochi, had to be hospitalized upon learning of his death. His father, Delvin Suresh, retired as an assistant commissioner of police, and his sister is a graduate student.
'Everyone had huge expectations from him,' said his uncle Linu Raj. The family has been enveloped in grief since Sunday morning. His uncle has requested action against coaching institutes to prevent such tragedies in the future, stating, 'We just want action to be taken so that young lives are not lost.' The incident occurred due to heavy rain on July 27, which led to the flooding of the Rau's IAS Study Circle building basement in Old Rajinder Nagar, central Delhi.
