Safety Audit Initiated for Jammu’s Private Coaching Centres

Authorities in Jammu have established district-level committees to conduct safety audits of private coaching centres. The initiative, led by Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar, follows the tragic flooding incident in Delhi that claimed the lives of three UPSC aspirants. The committees will assess safety protocols, regulatory adherence, and emergency measures.

Authorities have launched district-level committees to perform a detailed safety audit of private coaching centers across the Jammu region, officials confirmed on Thursday.

Acting on the directive of Jammu Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar, the committees, headed by additional deputy commissioners, are required to submit their observations within seven days.

This move follows the tragic incident in central Delhi, where flooding led to the deaths of three UPSC aspirants. Kumar emphasized that the audit will focus on safety features, adherence to building norms, fire systems, and emergency exits among other critical parameters.
