In response to the tragic deaths of three IAS aspirants at Rau's IAS Study Circle in Delhi after rainwater flooded the basement, several coaching institutes have stepped forward with offers of support. Vajiram and Ravi Institute, Drishti IAS, NEXT IAS, and SRIRAM's IAS have each pledged Rs 10 lakh to the families of the deceased students, Shreya Yadav, Tanya Soni, and Nevin Dalvin.
Additionally, Drishti IAS and SRIRAM's IAS have offered financial compensation to another UPSC aspirant, Nilesh Rai, who was electrocuted recently. Despite these offers, protesting students called the compensation a gimmick to divert attention from the main issues regarding safety and commercial use of basements, which violates building bye-laws. The MCD has since sealed several coaching centers' basements.
Coaching institutes have also provided free classes and facilities for the displaced students, with Vajiram and Ravi offering free admissions, and Sriram's IAS providing access to classrooms and libraries. However, students continue to express concerns about the lack of accessible library space following the incident.
