Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin has rolled out the 'Tamizh Pudhalvan' scheme, providing Rs 1,000 monthly aid to boys from government and state-aided schools to help them pursue higher education.
Speaking at the Government Arts College, Stalin emphasized the government's commitment to social justice through a range of welfare schemes. He highlighted the success of the fare-free bus travel for women, the Kalaignar Scheme for Women's Right, the Chief Minister's Breakfast scheme, and the Naan Mudhalvan skill development plan.
The 'Tamizh Pudhalvan' scheme is designed to support boys who completed their education in government schools from class 6 to 12. The initiative covers various educational paths including arts, science, law, engineering, and medicine. A budget of Rs 360 crore has been allocated, benefiting around 3.28 lakh students. The aid will be directly credited to beneficiaries' bank accounts, with Stalin distributing debit cards to mark the scheme's launch.
