Students and activists from NSUI and ABVP staged a protest at a private university on Saturday, alleging that a delayed ambulance arrival contributed to the death of a student two days prior.
The 19-year-old student from the B.Sc (Agriculture) program collapsed from a heart stroke during an exam on August 8 and died en route to the hospital. Initially transported by car, he was later shifted to an ambulance when it arrived.
Protesters called for ambulances to be stationed in every block of the university to ensure timely medical response in emergencies. During the protest, attempts were made to set some furniture on fire, but the flames were quickly extinguished, police reported.
