According to officials, Kumar had faced alleged harassment from two colleagues and the district's basic education officer. District Magistrate Nidhi Gupta confirmed the formation of a special team to investigate the incident, comprising senior administrative and police officials.

An 18-page suicide note left by Kumar detailed the alleged abuse he endured. Kumar's son, Anuj Singh, told reporters that his father's complaints were ignored by higher authorities.
