The Delhi High Court has called on Delhi University and the Bar Council of India to develop suitable online class structures with necessary safeguards for law students. Acknowledging the importance of physical attendance in professional courses, Justice Dinesh Kumar Sharma highlighted the role of technology and artificial intelligence in establishing effective remote learning mechanisms.

The court made these remarks while dismissing petitions by students who were barred from semester examinations due to insufficient attendance. The court maintained that writ jurisdiction couldn't grant relaxation in attendance requirements but encouraged the adoption of virtual class technology.

The judgment further advised updating contact information for students and urged the Faculty of Law to notify attendance via multiple channels to ensure transparency. It also suggested mechanisms for students to request reviews of short attendance, stressing the need to maintain course integrity without compromising discipline.
