In a shocking incident at a private university, six students have been accused of violently assaulting a fellow student. The police disclosed on Monday that the incident occurred when the victim, a second-year BA student, reportedly resisted ragging attempts by his seniors.

The altercation took place last Thursday in the friend’s room of the victim, leading to a brutal attack with a belt and a steel bottle. The perpetrators allegedly recorded the incident and smashed the victim’s mobile phone, threatening him with severe consequences if he reported the matter, revealed Rai police station SHO Kuldeep.

O P Jindal Global University, where the incident happened, has confirmed its cooperation with the ongoing police investigation, as stated by a university spokesperson. A formal case has been lodged, and the investigation continues.
