IIIT-Delhi Boosts PhD Fellowship to Attract Top Research Talent

Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi, has announced a significant increase in its PhD fellowship from Rs 37,000 to Rs 60,000 monthly, as revealed in a statement issued on Monday.
This strategic move seeks to attract premier research talent and fortify India's innovation landscape. Enhanced financial incentives are part of the package, including an annual research contingency grant of Rs 20,000, a one-time laptop grant of Rs 50,000, and Rs 2.5 lakh for professional development to facilitate participation in global conferences and workshops.
Moreover, PhD scholars will be eligible for up to Rs 1.5 lakh for international research excursions. Ranjan Bose, the Director of IIIT-Delhi, stressed the institute's commitment to pioneering high-impact research. Dean of Academic Affairs, Sumit Darak, emphasized the importance of financial security in academia. The institute encourages aspiring researchers to apply to its PhD program.
