Wahab urged the government to allocate necessary funds promptly to kickstart the project or return the land to facilitate the establishment of a new university. He emphasized the scarcity of land in Kerala and the need for immediate action. The AMU's South Indian campus was established in 2010 but remains underutilized.

In a broader critique of India's education sector, additional concerns were raised regarding delayed scholarships and inadequate school infrastructure. Lawmakers called for increased public investment, with demands for central assistance to open digital libraries and suggestions for state and foreign university collaborations.
