Punjab Shuts Schools Amid Rising Indo-Pak Tensions

The Punjab government has taken a decisive step by ordering the closure of educational institutions for the next three days, following escalating tensions between India and Pakistan.

Punjab Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains announced the move on the microblogging site X, highlighting the necessity of this action across all government, private, and aided schools, colleges, and universities in Punjab. The decision marks the state's heightened alert status.

Meanwhile, as a precautionary measure, a blackout has been imposed in multiple cities including Pathankot, Mohali, Jalandhar, Amritsar, and Hoshiarpur. The state's security readiness is further underscored by canceling all police leaves, a day after India targeted terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir.
