Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel has called on universities to ensure their research directly benefits farmers, women, and underserved communities. Speaking at the Indian Veterinary Research Institute's 11th convocation in Bareilly, she urged academic institutions to move beyond theoretical knowledge and tackle real-world issues.
Patel highlighted the importance of universities actively disseminating knowledge to those most in need. Drawing from her background in agriculture and animal husbandry, she argued that meaningful solutions arise when institutions engage directly with communities to understand their needs.
The governor also expressed joy over the increasing academic awards won by women, calling it a sign of women's growing roles in society. Union Minister Anupriya Patel praised AIIMS Gorakhpur's achievements in healthcare education, underscoring India's broader initiatives to expand quality medical facilities.
