SIT to Probe School Recruitment Irregularities in Maharashtra

Maharashtra Minister Dada Bhuse announced the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate recruitment irregularities in the school education department. The SIT will include senior IAS and IPS officers with legal expertise. More than 1,000 individuals were recruited, and many were found ineligible, causing financial loss.

Maharashtra Minister Dada Bhuse has unveiled plans for a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to examine irregularities in school education department recruitments. The decision was disclosed in the state legislative assembly on Tuesday.

The probe will involve senior IAS and IPS officers equipped with legal expertise, alongside specialists. This team has been allocated four to five months to complete the investigation.

According to a calling attention notice raised by Shiv Sena (UBT) legislator Ajay Chaudhari, over 1,000 teachers and non-teaching staff recruited in recent years were found ineligible, with 580 specifically identified in Nagpur and neighboring districts. The Nagpur division alone faced misallocation of Rs 100 crore in government funds due to these discrepancies.
