Odisha to Revolutionize Education with 835 Model Primary Schools

The Odisha government plans to establish 835 model primary schools, each costing up to Rs 7 crore, to act as feeders for high schools. The initiative, led by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, aims to enhance educational infrastructure, improve teaching methods, and involve community stakeholders for holistic student development.

Odisha is poised for an educational transformation as the state government announces plans to develop 835 model primary schools, with each school receiving an investment of up to Rs 7 crore. This strategic initiative, spearheaded by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, aims to serve as feeder institutions for high schools.

The state plan, which targets schools with over 100 students and sufficient land, will see the establishment of Godavarish Mishra Model Primary Schools. The first phase involves the development of 835 schools, ensuring one school per panchayat, complemented by transport facilities for students from remote areas.

Chief Minister Majhi has directed enhancements in educational infrastructure and teaching processes in alignment with the National Education Policy 2020. The initiative emphasizes foundational learning by class 3, interdisciplinary education, and community involvement to support the comprehensive development of students.
