The recent recruitment for assistant professor positions in Haryana has sparked controversy, with former Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda raising concerns over the low number of selected candidates from the state.
According to Hooda, only 8% of those who qualified for the interview stage are Haryana residents, despite the high qualifications of many applicants, including University Grants Commission - National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) qualifiers.
Hooda accuses the BJP-led government of favoring candidates from outside Haryana, questioning the reduction in local representation and the impact on job reservations for local communities.
