Uttar Pradesh Boosts Healthcare Infrastructure with New Nursing College

The Uttar Pradesh cabinet has approved the transfer of 0.405 hectares of land for a new government nursing college in Kushinagar district. This initiative, under a centrally sponsored scheme, aims to enhance healthcare infrastructure and generate local employment opportunities, funded partly by the Centre and the state.

In a significant move to bolster local healthcare facilities, the Uttar Pradesh cabinet has sanctioned the transfer of 0.405 hectares of land for a new government nursing college in Kushinagar district. This decision was finalized at a recent cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

As per the official statement, the land, located in Rampur village, will be allocated to the Medical Education Department and forms part of a larger 1.054-hectare plot. This project is part of a federally funded initiative that aims to establish 27 nursing colleges across Uttar Pradesh, with the Kushinagar college receiving approval.

The establishment of the nursing college, with a projected cost of Rs 10 crore, will receive 60 percent of its funding from the Centre and 40 percent from state resources. The college is anticipated to significantly enhance healthcare services and generate job opportunities, reinforcing the local economy.
