The cancellation of the NEET-UG 2026 exam following allegations of a paper leak has incited strong reactions from Haryana's opposition Congress party. They passionately argue that this incident threatens the future prospects of millions of students nationwide, attributing the issue to lapses in the current examination system.
Following the allegations, the National Testing Agency (NTA) promptly canceled the exam, originally held on May 3, while the government tasked the CBI with conducting a thorough investigation into the alleged corruption. Congress general secretary Kumari Selja termed the incident a significant setback for aspirants, particularly impacting students who spend years preparing for these competitive tests.
Congress leaders have vocally criticized the BJP-led government for frequent paper leak incidents, questioning their accountability and efficiency. They demand measures to ensure the integrity of the examination process, as students and their parents bear the brunt of these disruptions, facing financial burdens and emotional stress.
