The Communist Party of India (Marxist) has expressed strong condemnation regarding the alleged leakage of the NEET-UG examination paper. The party has demanded the immediate dissolution of the National Testing Agency (NTA), citing its repeated inability to conduct examinations with integrity.
In a decisive statement, the CPI(M) highlighted the plight of nearly 22 lakh students who have been caught in the turmoil of the alleged leak, noting the 'unnecessary psychological pressure' imposed upon them. The Left party attributed these leaks to 'connivance of corrupt and vested interests' who disregard student welfare.
Asserting that this incident is not isolated, CPI(M) called for the NTA to be scrapped and examination responsibilities to be decentralized. The party urged the Union government to conduct a thorough investigation, ensure severe penalties for those at fault, and protect the academic futures of affected students. Meanwhile, the NTA has annulled the NEET-UG 2026 scheduled for May 3 and a fresh exam date will be announced soon following a comprehensive inquiry initiated by the CBI.
