In an imperative move, the West Bengal government has ordered all state-run and aided schools to integrate 'Vande Mataram' in their morning assemblies, according to an official announcement from the School Education department.
This mandate arrives as part of a broader initiative to enhance respect for national symbols, in line with recent steps by the Union government proposing amendments to existing legislation.
Educational institutions, previously accustomed to only 'Jana Gana Mana' during assemblies, must now also include 'Vande Mataram', introducing complexities regarding scheduling and adherence.
