A Delhi court has ordered seven days of police custody for five individuals implicated in the NEET 2026 exam paper leak case. The court acknowledged the presence of an 'organized gang' involved in exploiting the confidential documents for financial benefit.
Special Judge Ajay Gupta approved the Central Bureau of Investigation's (CBI) request for custodial interrogation of Yash Yadav, Mangilal Khatik, Vikash Biwal, Dinesh Biwal, and Shubham Madhukar Khairnar. The investigation aims to uncover the full scope of the conspiracy and recover incriminating evidence.
The court noted a conspiracy angle in the case, highlighting the necessity of custodial interrogation to trace the paper leak's origins and those responsible. Allegedly, the compromised NEET 2026 paper, set for May 3, had been circulated in PDF form on WhatsApp prior to the exam, potentially involving officials from the National Testing Agency.
