In an unprecedented development, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) announced it had cracked the NEET paper leak case, arresting several individuals, including Professor P V Kulkarni, a chemistry expert involved in the exam's preparation. The arrests mark a significant breakthrough in the investigation after a three-day probe.
The agency detailed how Kulkarni, exploiting his insider status, violated the confidentiality of exam materials, offering illicit coaching sessions to students who paid substantial amounts for the leaked content. The breakthrough followed Operation Paper Leak, which identified multiple middlemen who facilitated the distribution of the leaked questions.
Numerous searches were conducted, leading to the seizure of electronic devices and incriminating materials. As forensic teams analyze the evidence, the CBI emphasizes that those involved in exam malpractice will face stringent action, ensuring the integrity of National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) is upheld.
