In a distressing development from Nigeria's violence-stricken Borno state, suspected militants abducted several students from Mussa Primary and Junior Secondary School in Askira-Uba. The attack, which occurred while classes were in session, has drawn parallels to the infamous 2014 kidnapping incident in Chibok.

Residents reported that the armed assailants arrived on motorcycles, causing a panic that allowed some students to flee to safety. Frustratingly, neither Nigeria's police nor military have commented on the incident at this time, despite the alarming similarities to previous attacks carried out by Boko Haram.

Local lawmaker Midala Usman Balami expressed deep concern over the attack, labeling it 'heartbreaking.' The abduction underscores ongoing security failings in rural Nigeria, with Borno state and surrounding areas continuing to face educational disruptions due to militant activities.
