The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has unveiled a provisional answer key for the 2026 Civil Services Preliminary Examination, marking a first in a step towards increased transparency in the selection process. The initiative allows candidates to submit their views and representations on the answer key until May 31.

Through the Online Question Paper Representation Portal, UPSC invites candidates to detail their insights, providing evidence from reliable sources to support their claims. This initiative underscores the commission's commitment to fair and rigorous examination standards. Nearly 5.49 lakh candidates competed for a total of 1,013 posts in this year's preliminary exam.

Conducted on May 24 in two sessions, the examination observed stringent protocols. The UPSC aims to carefully review all feedback, with subject experts analyzing submissions to ensure the integrity of the final results. The final answer key will be released after results are announced, following the Commission's established protocol.
