On Eid al-Adha, Delhi University saw a significant turnout for exams, with more than 1.35 lakh undergraduates attending. The exams went ahead despite it being a gazetted holiday, leading to some student organisations protesting the university's decision not to reschedule.
Delhi University's Controller of Examinations stated that while final attendance figures are awaited, initial reports indicate most students participated. However, approximately 200-300 students in the Faculty of Law were absent. In response, Delhi University announced that undergraduates and postgraduates who missed their exams due to the holiday will be eligible for a special exam after July 4, 2026. The university will provide detailed schedules and instructions in advance.
The university has asked affected students to inform their principals of their absence and check the examination website regularly for updates. The policy aims to accommodate those unable to attend due to the holiday conflict, ensuring fair opportunity for all students.
