Nobel Prize Foundation remembers Rabindranath Tagore on World Poetry Day on Mar 21

While India is celebrating the festival of colours, Holi, people around the planet gets another beautiful cause to celebrate. That's World Poetry Day. The Nobel Prize Foundation took to Twitter to pay tribute to Indian poet Rabindranath Tagore to promote reading, writing, publishing and teaching poetry throughout the world.

World Poetry Day, declared by UNESCO in 1999, is celebrated on March 21. The institution tweeted a picture of world-renowned 1913 Nobel Prize winner Rabindranath Tagore while quoting a line from his famous poem 'I touch God in my Song' that reads: 'The butterfly counts not months but moments, and has time enough.'

The association also recalled the contribution and achievement of the great Indian poet writing: Rabindranath Tagore, awarded the 1913 Nobel Prize in Literature for his sensitive, fresh and beautiful poetry expressing his poetic thought. #WorldPoetryDay
