A headmaster of a government high school in Khammam district, who was on the run since February this year after police booked him for allegedly misbehaving with some girl students of the school was Tuesday arrested, police said. B Shanker Reddy, aged around 57, headmaster of Zilla Parishad High School (ZPHS), was arrested from the bus-stand in Kusumanchi town of the district, (Khammam Rural Division) Assistant Commissioner of Police Ramoji Ramesh told PTI.

In February, at least six girl students had complained against Reddy accusing him of misbehaving with them following which a case under Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act was registered against the Headmaster, who went absconding since then, police earlier said. "He fled to Gujarat and came to Hyderabad recently.

Police were constantly monitoring his cell phone call data record, but it was switched off. Based on specific information, a police team arrested Reddy from the bus-stand Tuesday," the ACP said.

He was accused of making "sexual remarks and touching" the girls, the official said. The official said in 2015 also a similar case was registered against the headmaster following allegations that he misbehaved with few girl students and he was then arrested and later released on bail..
