Inside Edge Season 3: Tanuj Virwani calls his character ‘very organic’

Amazon Originals’ first Hindi language web series Inside Edge Season 3 has wrapped up its principal photography and gearing up for release. In June, the series creators announced an update via an Instagram post. The post reads, "More cricket. More drama. More entertainment. Season 3, coming soon. HOWZATTTTTT?"

Although the plot for the third run is yet to be revealed, Tanuj Virwani who portrays Vayu Raghavan described his character by saying “it’s very organic.”

In the recent interview with ET, he said that he cannot reveal much about Inside Edge Season 3 as the premiere is still a few months away. “What I can say, however, is that season 3 picks up pretty much where season 2 ended. So, it’s very organic; I’m not just speaking about my character but all the other returning characters as well,” said Tanuj Virwani.

He added, "I’m really excited. We have tried to do something very different in the upcoming season and hopefully, you guys will appreciate the efforts taken by the makers. It is a stand-out show for me. I’m a huge fan of the show, along with being part of the cast. I can’t wait for you guys to watch it.''

A few months earlier, Virwani told IANS: "Inside Edge 3 is right around the corner. It is one of those shows which mean a lot to me because it changed the trajectory of my career, my life and even my acting style. It is something which is very dear to my heart."

He added, "Along with being a cast member, I am also a massive fan of the show. I can't wait to see how all of you react to all the innumerable surprises that we have in store. I know there are a lot of fan theories that are doing the rounds on social media. I can't confirm or deny that but you guys are in for a hell of a ride!”

Inside Edge is centered on the Mumbai Mavericks, a fictional T20 cricket crew, whose owners operate a league-wide match-fixing organization. The seasons end with Mumbai Mavericks being boycotted for twenty years as they were spotted giving payment for match-fixing. Mantra Patil (played by Sapna Pabbi) is sent to jail after being held accountable for Mumbai Mavericks. Zarina Malik (Richa Chadha) and Vikrant Dhawan (Vivek Oberoi) get on a plane. It seems they could form a new group. Inside Edge 3 would clear the cliffhangers of the last season.

 While talking about the plot, Virwani said to Pinkvilla that the story will be completely different from the previous season and beyond the expectations of the audience.

"What I like about Inside Edge is the fact that we don't try to rehash, but instead take the story forward. Season 3 is going to be completely different," said Tanuj Virwani.

The actor added, "I have played Vayu Raghavan in 3 different seasons and every time, I did that series, I was in a different stage in my life. It's interesting, because there's a part of me and a part of the character. The performance is consistent, but there is a gradual evolution of the character."

Amazon Prime has not officially announced the cast, however, no doubt Tanuj Virwani is returning in Inside Edge Season 3. Besides, it is likely almost all the main stars would return to their respective roles including Vivek Oberoi, Aamir Bashir, Richa Chadda, Sapna Pabbi, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Angad Bedi, and Sayani Gupta. Mirchi Malini's actor Akshay Oberoi joined Inside Edge Season 3 cast.

There is no release date of Inside Edge Season 3. Stay tuned to get more updates on the Amazon Prime series.
