Delhi Government Allocates Rs 900 Crore for Village Development

Delhi Minister Gopal Rai on Wednesday announced a strict timeline of June 15 for relevant agencies to prepare their action plans focused on the development of villages in the national capital. Speaking at a press conference, Rai disclosed that the city government's budget includes a provision of Rs 900 crore for the advancement of both urban and rural villages in Delhi. Emphasizing the urgency, he noted that preparations are underway on a war footing.

The development of village roads is being prioritized, and a meeting was held with various agencies to discuss the same. Before the implementation of the model code of conduct in the city, a total of 1,387 proposals were presented by MLAs from different assemblies and all were approved by the board, Rai stated.

All agencies have been instructed to set June 15 as their timeline for preparing action plans to ensure execution by October. The GRAP (Graded Response Action Plan) will be enforced beginning November, after which the model code of conduct for state assembly elections will be active from January. In light of these deadlines, Rai emphasized the importance of sticking to the June 15 timeline.
