The total prize money fund for Wimbledon 2024 will hit a record 50 million pounds (about $64 million), All England Club officials revealed at their annual spring briefing on Thursday. The singles champions will each earn 2.7 million pounds ($3.45 million) as part of this unprecedented increase.

This amount marks a 5.3 million pound ($6.8 million) rise from the previous year, an 11.9% increase and double the 25 million pounds ($32 million) awarded a decade ago. Deborah Jevans, the new chair of the All England Club, highlighted the soaring ticket demand, noting it has “never been greater.”

First-round singles players will now receive 60,000 pounds ($76,000), up from 55,000 ($70,000) in 2023, while qualifying event prizes will increase by 14.9% to 4.8 million pounds ($6 million). The club also discussed formulating a unified domestic violence policy with other Grand Slam hosts and prepared plans to honor Andy Murray, should he announce his retirement.
