The Uttar Pradesh cabinet has greenlit a landmark proposal by Tata Sons to establish a 'museum of temples' in Ayodhya at an estimated cost of Rs 650 crore, officials revealed on Tuesday.
Tourism Minister Jaivir Singh elaborated that the tourism department will allocate the land to Tata Sons on a 90-year lease for a nominal fee of Re 1. The project will be funded through Tata Sons' corporate social responsibility fund.
The cabinet, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, also approved additional development works in Ayodhya worth Rs 100 crore. Further proposals included the introduction of helicopter services and the development of heritage buildings into tourist destinations.
