Reality TV star and business mogul Kim Kardashian has revealed that her son, shared with ex-husband Kanye West, has been diagnosed with vitiligo. This rare skin condition is characterized by patches of skin losing their pigment. Kardashian made this disclosure during a recent podcast appearance, according to E! News.
Kim explained that psoriasis came from her mother, was inherited by her, and was passed on in a different form to her son as vitiligo. According to Mayo Clinic's research, vitiligo causes patches of skin to lose color and can affect any part of the body.
Contrasting her son's condition with her own battle with psoriasis, Kim noted that she is also mother to daughters North and Chicago. Her psoriasis appeared later in life, at age 30. She recounted the moment her mother, Kris Jenner, identified the condition. Initially sceptical, Kim confirmed the diagnosis with a dermatologist and underwent treatment including cortisone shots. Despite periods of remission, the condition has been persistent over the years, recurring approximately five years after the initial diagnosis and continuing since then. (ANI)
