Actor Ryan Reynolds, known for his role in the 2016 superhero film 'Deadpool', recently opened up about the challenges he faced as a co-producer, alongside Simon Kinberg and Lauren Shuler Donner. Reynolds recounted paying the film’s writers himself, as reported by Deadline.

“No part of me thought that 'Deadpool' would be a success when it was finally greenlit,” Reynolds admitted. He even forwent a salary to ensure his co-writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick could be on set, forming a makeshift writers room. “I think one of the great enemies of creativity is too much time and money, and that movie had neither,” he noted.

Reynolds expressed his deep investment in 'Deadpool', a sentiment he longed to replicate in future projects. His dedication paid off, earning him a co-writer nod on 'Deadpool 2'. The trio has now reunited for 'Deadpool & Wolverine', set to hit theaters on July 26, joined by Zeb Wells and director Shawn Levy, according to Deadline.
