Since its inception in 2018, the R|Elan Circular Design Challenge (CDC) has emerged as a premier platform for showcasing global innovations in sustainable fashion. This year's edition spans the Asia-Pacific, European Union, and United Kingdom regions, concluding at Lakme Fashion Week in New Delhi this October.
Presented by R|ELAN, the fabric brand of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), and the United Nations in India, the CDC is dedicated to promoting eco-conscious creativity. The challenge addresses waste and the fashion industry's carbon footprint, pushing India's fashion sector towards greater eco-consciousness and providing a global stage for sustainable fashion.
Launched in India six years ago, last year's CDC expanded globally. This year's international jury sessions started in Milan and ended in Mumbai. Designers Wenyan Xu of Saltless (EU), Tsang Fan Yu (APAC), Silvia Acien of ACIEN (UK), and Indian designers Gautam Malik, Ritwik Khanna, and Chandini Batra, will present their work at Lakme Fashion Week.
