Former Woman Officer Honors Kargil Heroes with 160-km Run from Srinagar to Drass

Lieutenant Colonel Barsha Rai (Retd) completed a 160-km run from Srinagar to Drass in four days to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas. Joined by the Chinar Warriors marathon team, she dedicated her run to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the Kargil War.

Lieutenant Colonel Barsha Rai (Retd) successfully ran a 160-km course from Srinagar to Drass, commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Kargil Vijay Diwas.

The run, completed in four days, was a tribute to the brave soldiers who laid down their lives in the Kargil War. Joined by the Chinar Warriors marathon team, Rai paid homage to the martyrs at the Kargil War Memorial upon completing her journey.

'I ran to honor our brave hearts who sacrificed their lives for the nation,' she said. Starting her run on July 19, her route included challenging terrains such as the 11649 feet high Zojila Pass and altitudes up to 9,000 feet.
