Dhariya Karwa Talks About His High-Stakes Journey in Acting: Feast or Famine?
Dhariya Karwa, known for 'Gehraiyaan,' discusses the 'feast and famine' nature of acting. He emphasizes choosing quality projects for lasting credibility. After a brief role in 'Made In Heaven,' he stars in 'Gyaarah Gyaarah,' a major web series. Karwa aims to be commercially viable with careful role selection.
Dhariya Karwa, the 'Gehraiyaan' actor, describes acting as a 'feast and famine' game, emphasizing the need to prioritize quality over quantity to ensure a long-lasting career. After his role in 'Gehraiyaan' opposite Deepika Padukone in 2022, Karwa has only appeared in 'Apurva' (2023).
His next major appearance is in 'Gyaarah Gyaarah,' his first significant web series following a brief role in the first season of 'Made In Heaven.' Directed by Umesh Bhat, this series is a remake of the popular South Korean drama 'Signal.'
'It's easy to gain fame today, but sustaining it is challenging. Acting is a feast and famine game; you have to endure the lean phases,' the 33-year-old actor told PTI. Known for supporting roles in 'Uri: The Surgical Strike' and '83,' Karwa believes that an actor's choices define their career.
He highlighted the permanence of an actor's filmography: 'There can't be corrections once it's documented. Your choices shape your image and career. If you aim for the long haul, you must be cautious with your decisions.'
Talking about 'Gyaarah Gyaarah,' where he stars alongside Raghav Juyal and Kritika Kamra, Karwa described the experience as creatively fulfilling. The show, set to premiere on August 9 on ZEE5, centers around a senior detective played by Karwa and a young officer using a mysterious communication tool. Directed by Umesh Bist and produced by Karan Johar and Guneet Monga Kapoor, the series is deeply rooted in local culture and landscapes, said Karwa, who avoided watching the original to avoid biasing his performance.
