The Tamil film industry is currently embroiled in a heated dispute, as the Tamil Film Producers’ Council (TFPC) has accused actor Dhanush of accepting advances without providing dates for project commitments, stirring significant unrest.

TFPC Secretary R Radhakrishnan announced that the council stands by its decision to temporarily halt new film signings after August 16 and impose a complete ban on shootings starting from November 1, pending further actions decided in an upcoming meeting.

The South Indian Artistes' Association (SIAA) expressed its displeasure at the sudden accusations against Dhanush and deemed the producers' council’s actions as arbitrary, vowing to determine their counteractions in a general body meeting scheduled for mid-August.
