Indian Youth Congress Candlelight March Highlights Multiple Tragedies

Leaders called for action and support from the Central government.

The Indian Youth Congress held a candlelight march on Tuesday to honor the memory of three UPSC aspirants who tragically lost their lives due to waterlogging in Old Rajendra Nagar, officials reported. The march also commemorated victims of the Jharkhand train accident and the Wayanad landslide.

Indian Youth Congress national president Srinivas BV expressed deep sorrow over the incidents, emphasizing the need for better infrastructure in the capital to ensure citizens' safety. He highlighted that such accidents in the country’s capital are a significant concern.

During the march, Srinivas also called for the Central government to provide compensation to the affected families. He noted the heart-wrenching devastation in Wayanad and stressed the need for immediate help. Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge have also urged the Central government to assist the affected families.
