Actor Neve Campbell has confirmed her return as Sidney Prescott in the seventh installment of the 'Scream' series, according to Deadline reports. Fans can expect Sidney to face the iconic Ghostface once again in this chapter.

'We are going to follow Sidney,' Campbell revealed. 'They pitched the concept to me, and it's the reason I jumped on board,' she added, noting that she has yet to receive the final script but is eager to read it.

'I love these movies; they are incredibly fun to be a part of. I'm so grateful for them and never imagined being involved in a franchise for this many decades,' Campbell expressed. 'Scream VII' will be directed by Kevin Williamson, known for writing the screenplays for 'Scream' and 'Scream 2'.

Campbell featured in the first five films of the 'Scream' franchise but opted out of 'Scream VI' due to not feeling adequately valued. 'I did not feel that what I was being offered equated to the value I bring to this franchise,' she explained.

Previously, Kevin Williamson advocated for Campbell's return, emphasizing her need for fair compensation. In November 2023, the franchise saw significant changes, including the dismissal of new lead Melissa Barrera over antisemitic social media statements and Jenna Ortega's departure, leaving Campbell as the sole confirmed star.
