Rahul Gandhi Champions Farmers' Relief in Telangana

In a decisive move to support the agricultural community, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday commended the INDIA bloc's plan to rescue farmers from debt by advocating for a legal guarantee for Minimum Support Price (MSP).

Gandhi lauded the Telangana state government's initiative to launch the second phase of its crop loan waiver scheme, benefitting approximately 6.4 lakh farmer families with an expenditure exceeding Rs 6,198 crore. He congratulated farmers from Telangana in a post on X, highlighting the scheme's alignment with the government's manifesto promise.

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, along with his cabinet ministers, spearheaded the second phase of the scheme on the legislative assembly premises. Following the waiving of loans up to Rs 1 lakh in the first phase, the second phase targets loans up to Rs 1.5 lakh, providing crucial financial relief to indebted farmers.
