The body of Siddhant Vitthal Patil, a 26-year-old Indian IT professional, has been recovered from Glacier National Park in Montana. Patil drowned on July 6 while hiking Avalanche Lake Trail, falling into Avalanche Creek. He was on vacation with friends at the time.

Visitors reported seeing a body around 10:30 am on Saturday morning, prompting rangers to remove it. Clothing and gear matching what Patil wore were recovered, according to a press release from park officials.

Patil’s identity is being confirmed through DNA or dental records by the Flathead County coroner. The body had been submerged, held by obstacles like fallen trees or rocks, making it difficult for rangers to search due to water depth and whitewater conditions.
