President Ratu Wiliame Maivalili Katonivere conferred the award on Murmu, marking the first visit by an Indian head of state to Fiji. Murmu described the accolade as a reflection of the deep friendship between India and Fiji.
Murmu also addressed the Fijian Parliament, stressing the importance of shared democratic values and the potential for collaboration. She lauded the announcement of projects like the Super Specialty Cardiology Hospital in Suva, which aims to meet the healthcare needs of the region.
