Concerns Raised Over Violent Online Games Influencing Children

NCP Rajya Sabha member Fauzia Khan on Tuesday raised concerns about the exposure of children to violent online video games, urging the government to regulate the content.

Speaking during the Zero Hour in the Upper House, Khan noted that digital-age children face increasing exposure to games featuring inappropriate themes like violence, foul language, and substance abuse.

She referenced popular games like PubG, Call of Duty, and GTA, which could influence aggressive behavior, anxiety, and even lead to tragic incidents such as a 15-year-old boy's suicide in Pune. She called for legislation and a dedicated division to oversee and categorize these games.
